"God sees us, which means God knows us. In our wor "God sees us, which means God knows us. In our world, so often our relationships have distance that prevents true knowing. Perhaps it is the distance of miles or technology. Perhaps it is the distance of shame and an unwillingness to risk being rejected. All sorts of issues prevent us from sharing who we truly are with other people and being truly known.

But God already knows you. God knows every curve to your smile and the saline content of your tears. God knows the trauma you’ve buried so deep down that you’ve hidden its full weight from even yourself. God knows the brilliance of your beautiful soul. God knows the stupidest moments of your life past, present, and future. God knows. God sees. And God loves you. God sees you, and there is nothing, no matter how insidious or embarrassing, that can prevent God from continuing to love you." —Andrew R. Jones, Ten Treasures of Learning to Pray
Curriculum and children’s resources are an importa Curriculum and children’s resources are an important part of what we do at CPH. The valuable experience that church workers, particularly those who have been called to teach, bring to CPH helps us ensure our resources are both Christ-centered and intentional in aiding Lutheran educators to share the Gospel in their classrooms.

“I came to CPH with 25 years of experience in education. Most of my years were spent in Lutheran day schools where we used many CPH products including My Devotions, Arch Books, and religion curriculum. My hands-on use of CPH products allows me to help customers find the products that fit their unique needs. Being in the Editorial department means I can use my Lutheran teaching degree to help format many of the periodicals that CPH creates.”
In our culture, we’re often encouraged to look wit In our culture, we’re often encouraged to look within ourselves for purpose and identity. Yet many find that the more they turn inward, the more restless or uncertain they feel—not simply because something has gone wrong but because they were made to receive life from beyond themselves.

In Lift Your Eyes, Joshua Pfeiffer gently invites a different way: lifting your gaze beyond yourself—upward to God in faith, outward to your neighbors in love, and forward in hope rooted in Christ’s promises.
"People don’t usually say, “You just have to have "People don’t usually say, “You just have to have enough faith” because they want to put a guilt trip on someone who is suffering. People say it because they want to encourage others in their suffering, and there is some truth to it. They can and should trust God in these circumstances. But if you want to encourage someone in their suffering, it would be much better to talk not about what they should be doing but about Jesus and what He can do. The Scriptures emphasize faith not to pressure us to try harder but to point us to God and His trustworthiness. Your faith is only as strong as the one in whom you put your trust, and God is the one who gives life to the dead and calls into existence things that do not exist. And in Jesus Christ, God has promised us His unending faithfulness." —Rev. Dr. Joel P. Meyer

In Soundbite Theology, Meyer examines the phrases we reach for in crisis and untangles the ones that quietly put the pressure back on you.
October is Church Worker Appreciation Month! Our t October is Church Worker Appreciation Month! Our team at Concordia Publishing House is made up of all kinds of people from a wide variety of backgrounds, including church workers. The church workers on staff bring a special perspective to our mission.

“My own experience in the parish and my continued involvement in my own church's ministry help keep me, as well as my team, grounded in the reason we build the applications we do and create software that aims to be faithful, like Aaron and Hur holding up the prophet's hands. Church workers should be empowered to get on with the work to which they've been called—proclaiming the Gospel of Christ—rather than sitting in front of a computer screen all day.”
