Concordia Publishing House’s Last Summer at Eden, by Christina Hergenrader, has been recognized as a 2018 finalist in the young adult category for The Christy Awards, the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association’s (ECPA) program that honors and promotes excellence in Christian fiction.

Last Summer at Eden is a celebration of camp songs, lifelong friendships, young love, and the Gospel message shared around a campfire. Described as “an amusing, romantic, and uplifting YA tale” by Kirkus Reviews, Last Summer at Eden introduces readers to nineteen-year-old Poppi and Camp Eden. Camp Eden is on the verge of being shut down, causing Poppi to spring into action to save the camp for future campers. Poppi knows that just as she needs camp, kids need camp.

Last Summer at Eden delicately and intentionally empowers young women and affirms the always difficult aspect of trusting in God’s vision,” says Allison Westerhoff, Program Director, Mt. Cross Ministries. “If I could, I would have every young Christian read this. . . . It’s fun, it’s uplifting, and it’s refreshing!”

The Christy Award™ exists to celebrate excellence in the art of Christian Fiction and to honor the power of faith in story. The 2018 Christy Award winners will be announced at The Christy Award Gala, taking place at 7 p.m., November 7, in the Shamblin Theatre at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.
