Concordia Publishing House announces the release of a new adult coloring book, The Illuminated Hymnal, that brings the tranquility of coloring together with the love of hymnody. Each page is designed to invite readers to slow down and intentionally reflect on the beloved hymnody as they bring the illustrations to life.

The Illuminated Hymnal contains 42 beautiful illustrations, each accompanied by a hymn from the Lutheran Service Book. Each spread showcases hymn lyrics on the left with an accompanying full-page illustration on the right, featuring symbols and design elements influenced by the hymn. The thick pages allow readers to select the artistic tools that best fit their personal style, with plenty of white space provided for journaling and reflection. About the Illustrator

Carolyn Williams graduated from the American Academy of Art in Chicago with a degree in illustration. After an extensive career as a graphic artist, she decided to pursue her first love and become a full-time freelance illustrator. She enjoys creating bright, whimsical illustrations inspired by nature, the seasons, and her passion for children’s education. Her work can be found in adult coloring books as well as activity books for young children. Originally from Illinois, she now lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and two children.
