ST. LOUIS—Understanding the prickly issues of today can be challenging for any Christian. A new Apologetics (confessing the Christian faith) and Polemics (confessing the Lutheran faith) series from Concordia Publishing House gives believers the tools they need to talk about a variety of issues and to equip themselves to take on contemporary concerns. The latest edition, Responding to Transgenderism in Light of God’s Word by Rev. Dr. Scott Stiegemeyer, is now available to order on the CPH website.

“The church offers hope with the assurance that the most painful and puzzling problems of our present time, transgender conditions among them, will be fully resolved in Him in the dawning age to come,” Stiegemeyer writes. “This means that even our most inscrutable troubles, though overwhelming to us, are simple to resolve in the hands of the One in whom we trust.”

With a thorough explanation and noncombative language, Stiegemeyer helps readers understand why Christians view transgenderism as a sin and explores the current discussion surrounding the topic in this Apologetics volume. Then, he helps readers find ways to witness to those suffering from perceived gender dysphoria to see themselves as perfect in God’s design.

Each volume in the series is written by top authors in the field who have spent their life’s work researching their assigned topic. Two previous volumes have been written before this newest edition, including one that tackles the purpose of mission work and another that lays out a biblical theology of God’s two realms represented in the church and the state.
