Concordia Publishing House announces the release of Blessed: God’s Gift of Love, a new book by Mary J. Moerbe with Rev. Dr. Christopher Mitchell. Blessed investigates the meaning of the word blessing as it appears in the Bible. As Moerbe points out in her introduction, “Blessing is a weightier word than many and a concept worthy of our consideration.”
Blessed’s chapters cover a wide range of the word’s usage, explaining how God uses it to teach us how it should be used. Moerbe and Mitchell’s work probes deeper than many biblical definitions, seeking to provide readers with the complete scriptural treatment of the word. Through the engaging interplay of reflective moments and detailed exegesis, Blessed provides any reader an avenue to discover exactly what “God’s blessings” mean for us.
