New Confirmation Curriculum to be Released by Concordia Publishing House
Concordia Publishing House (CPH) announced today that a new confirmation instruction curriculum will be released in the summer of 2018, in time for fall confirmation classes.
“The curriculum focuses on each confirmand personally engaging with the timeless truth of God’s Word contained in Luther’s Small Catechism with Explanation,” said Rev. Pete Jurchen, an editor of curriculum resources at CPH. “In so doing, each learner will be equipped with the fundamental understandings of lifelong discipleship.”
The first two modules of the curriculum are a one-year and two-year catechism review. These modules are based on the 2017 edition of Luther’s Small Catechism with Explanation. Two additional modules—a one-year biblical literacy review and a one-year apologetics review—will release in 2019. In March of 2018, Timeless Truth: An Essential Guide to Teaching the Catechism will release. Timeless Truth will provide readers with a practical approach to confirmation as just one step within a lifelong Christian faith journey.
