ST. LOUIS (March 13, 2025)—Concordia Gospel Outreach (CGO), a charity of Concordia Publishing House (CPH), is making youth outreach a focal point in 2025 as it continues its Food Bank Arch Book donation program. The program aims to send thousands of free Arch Books to families all over the country every week through local Lutheran food banks. Arch Books are short, simple Bible stories that convey Scripture in an easy-to-learn way and are made to plant the seed of faith in the youngest in our communities. CGO currently sends 4,500 Arch Books to different food banks every week and has a goal of reaching 10,000 per week by the end of 2025.
CGO was inspired in 2024 by a Lutheran school student in Phoenix to utilize food bank programs as an outlet to hand out Arch Books to community members. Arch Books have captivated generations of children with their colorful pictures and creative poetry since they were introduced by CPH in 1964. Each book presents a complete Bible account in a fun-to-read way that early-elementary children will understand and remember, whether they’re reading it on their own or having it read to them.
If you know a food bank that would like to join CGO’s Arch Book donation program, contact CGO via email at cgo@cph.org or by calling 314-268-1076.
Generous donations make this program possible. If you’d like to support CGO and its Food Bank Arch Book donation program, visit concordiagospeloutreach.org.
