ST.LOUIS, MO– Celebrating the Saints, written by William Weedon and designed by Alex Ha has been awarded a 2016 Top Shelf Book Cover Award.
The Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) created the Top Shelf Book Cover Awards to celebrate the year’s best book designs in Christian publishing. Covers are judged by top designers in the industry for their merits in appropriateness for the market, level of conceptual thinking, and quality of execution.
“This industry produces not only life changing content but good art,” says ECPA executive director Stan Jantz. “The Top Shelf program gives us opportunity to celebrate and enjoy beautiful book design – one of the great pleasures of owning a good book.”
Commenting on Celebrating the Saints, the judges said, “We loved the stunning marriage of type and imagery on this cover. Christ appears subtly behind a carefully crafted wall of saints names. Still, your eye travels easily to the title and author. The overall impact is a very original and modern approach to a subject that is both historical and current.”
The 2016 ECPA Top Shelf Book Cover Award winners were announced October 13, 2016, at PUBu in Chicago, IL.
