A daily devotional on the Psalms, drawn from the commentaries of Luther, is now available from Concordia Publishing House.
In Psalm by Psalm, 365 devotions break down the Book of Psalms for a daily look into the Word. These psalms are outlined and commentated by none other than Martin Luther himself. These brief but substantial daily devotions are drawn from the many volumes in the American Edition of Luther’s Works, including volumes that are newly translated into English.
Luther committed the Psalms to memory and drew on them throughout his life. He was profoundly affected by his study of the Psalms, so much so that it can be said they helped define his ministry. From his days as a student, they had taken deep root in his heart, mind, and soul—and they should take root in ours as well.
According to Luther, “The Psalter ought to be a precious and beloved book. . . . In it is comprehended most beautifully and briefly everything that is in the entire Bible.”
