Local Christy Award Nominee Katie Schuermann Releases Second Novel

St. Louis, MO—Local author and Christy Award nominee Katie Schuermann will be holding a book signing and reading at the Barnes

& Noble in Springfield, Illinois. Her latest release, The Choir Immortal, is the follow-up novel to House of Living Stones.

Honest, sincere, and lyrical, Katie Schuermann’s writing reflects her Midwestern roots and her interest in the arts. After earning graduate degrees in music, she taught music history and literature at various colleges, directed children’s theater camps, and sang in various concert halls, theaters, and churches across the Midwest.

Her newest novel, The Choir Immortal, travels back to Bradbury, where it all began. Two of Zion Lutheran Church’s own are getting married! Emily Duke, Pastor Fletcher, and the rest of Zion’s quirky flock return in this compelling sequel to House of Living Stones, proving that life in a small town is anything but small.

Come join her from 2:00–4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27th, at the Springfield Barnes & Noble to hear Katie read some of her favorite parts of the book and to have her sign your copy! For questions, please contact Lindsey Martie, 314-268-1303,lindsey.martie@cph.org.
